Getting The Most From Social Media As A Business
Posted: January 30th, 2012 | Author: Brian Martin (BlinkBrian) | Filed under: Brand Marketing | No Comments »Facebook and Twitter are both easily used, I personally don’t understand why one would find it difficult to use Twitter or even Facebook! However once you start, you really start to feel the benefits and get addicted! Using just two social media networking sites, you’re able grow you’re business which begs the question, why do so many try and fail?
Simply put it is because you’re not using content marketing. Producing free online content which is engaging to your customers and your customer find useful.
What does this mean for me?
Database – How I’ve been doing this is by giving away free information that takes none of my personal / business time and it’s what people want. Money talks and with this in-mind I’ve been giving away £50 Google Adwords vouchers to anyone who wishes to have it. In exchange I collect e-mail addresses and ask for a follow back on Twitter and discuss my services.
Being followed on Twitter in the short term means one will be able to engage with new professionals whilst in the long term perhaps a conversion.
Authority – People don’t like spending money at the best of times, people wish to do business with people who know what they are doing. By producing quality content you demonstrate your authority in your industry.
Trust Issues – So you’ve now got a following on Twitter and Facebook and perhaps subscribed people to your mailing list. Now is the time to build trust and by exposing your content they will get to know who you are and how you work. Eventually beginning to like and trust you.
SEO – Natural link-building from followers who find you’re content great, discussing your posts via forums, social networks and tweeting your content.
Ensure you get your content marketing right, mix this with your tweeting and facebook and other social media sites POW!
I’m about to tell you what you can expect
- With the use of Social Media buttons, making your content easy to share will bring new visitors.
- Potential customers will follow you, and will monitor your actions on social networking sites, learn to trust whilst you’re proving that you’re reliable, trustworthy and have authority.
- Potential customers will follow you, and retweet to their (hopefully) thousands of followers.
- You’re now the go-to-girl (or guy) and have potential customers flocking to seek advice.
- Eventually but not tomorrow your content will become viral, reach millions and perhaps even retire to the veranda of an evening.
All this isn’t easy, it hard work, you’ll find yourself unmotivated, but make sure you get this right and the above will promote your business.
Do it correctly and your social media marketing and reach will improve.
